ratatosk's mad entomophotographical skills. But the link back there shows one that looks substantially the same.
Unfortunately, because mantidflies are predators, what this probably means is that we have either large amounts of spiders, or a wasp's nest. Meep.
We also found a dead stag beetle in near-perfect condition and, because I am a big nerd, we put it in a baggie and took it home. Now I can put it with my cuckoo wasp or whatever and have a bug specimen collection of size 2. :)
