Nothing totally awesome happened, but V got to charm a bunch of people, and was totally taller than that 12-month-old at the playground. And I got to eat at the Danish Pastry House and the teachers I was talking to there (one high school, one college) were totally impressed with how I handled a translation passage recently and think they should try doing things that way. So, go me.

Also in an hour I get to watch the Red Sox in the World Series, but I don't yet know if that's good or bad ;).

made a lot of progress on a programming an experiment in a new language I'm learning and I sort of gave a practice talk (it was pretty early on the "practice" level) and got excellent feedback.

I had another beautiful drive out to Milwaukee, followed by a great class, followed by another great drive back. Lots of learning and belting out amazing music.

The best thing: Spent about an hour and a half in bed this morning with Claire snuggled on my chest and both cats on my lap.

The worst thing: Having to get up.

Well, it's not quite "today" anymore, but one of my Nerd Camp kids remembered what my birthday was from an offhand conversation. Then she coordinated this cascade of former students IMing me with "Happy Birthday! You're old!"

There was a HUGE traffic jam (my carpool and I moved .4 miles in an hour and a half, which meant I couldn't get to church for choir rehearsals, which meant I got to go home and sleep instead. yay for falling backhoes and Only One Road!

Well, yesterday, I guess, since I got to see and cuddle with my sweetie. And I gave her some pretty leaves that I had collected for her, pressed in a book, and forgotten until I glanced at the bookshelf during aforementioned cuddles. Her delight was the best thing that happened to me that day.

Where "today" = October 24th: I got to Minneapolis (after some plane travel drama) and saw silentmachine for the first time in over a month. Best thing that had happened to me all month!
