In other news, my new laptop is finally here, and I can't get the wireless network card working; it can't see my network, which is (and my post should make this obvious) perfectly functional. Bummer. Perhaps it is a compatibility thing between my brand of card and my brand of router?
Edit: A quick call to Dell fixed the connection problem and I now have a happy, quiet little laptop! I've named her Ceridwen, after this charming story. I like that story because it appears to be a twist on a disturbing song that may actually have predated it. Also, the image of my computer laying the smackdown on my attempts to get smart has a certain humor value.
