Aug. 16th, 2005 09:40 amI think I've figured out the military/PR strategy of Bush & Co. In a statement made to the Foreign Relations Committee during the Vietnam conflict, John Kerry famously wondered, "How do you ask a man to be the last to die for a mistake?" Some have started to apply this same question to the quagmire in Iraq. Clearly, the answer to the question is, you don't. If you keep throwing bodies at a problem for years on end, the odds of any one of them being the last to die for your mistake are vanishingly small.
