Last night, G and I went with our favorite Former Neighbors of Various Queernesses to hear some spoken word at A Room of One's Own. I'd heard Alix Olson perform before, but the other artist, Andrea Gibson, was new to me, and wow, she was incredible. At dancingwaves' suggestion I looked her up on YouTube and found this piece on marriage. It's lovely.

There were also two younger local artists who performed -- one of them was this absolutely phenomenal high school student. I wish I had caught her name so I could find out when she's going to perform next.
