On the other hand, what you're left with is a scenario where raw strength is the only factor, and when somebody gets a very loose definition of "harm none" in their head, you'd better hope there's someone stronger than them around, to smack them down.
Barriers to personal behavior are the only way to have an even remotely civilized society. Every member gives up certain rights in order to gain control over certain potentially dangerous behaviors of others. It would be insanely dangerous to suggest that if we removed all such barriers, and released total freedom of action to the masses, that everone would behave themselves.
