It is abnormally warm in my lab. Not the kind of abnormally warm where everyone's complaining because the AC isn't on yet. No, it is actually ninety degrees in here, and there is such a clear temperature gradient that when you open the door to the (windowless, warm) hallway you get a cool breeze, and when you close the door it is unbearable again after about two minutes. I feel awful for the subjects. At least they're only in here for 30 minutes apiece.

You know, I worry that my subjects are thinking that...

Ugh, it's just as bad in mine, so I came home. :\ I blame having four computers + six bodies + having to keep the door closed most of the time due to stuff going on in the hallway...but really, it's just bad.

Is there anyone we can talk to about turning the building heat *off*, even if they don't turn the AC on yet? Because the thermostat, it does nothing...

I don't know. Honestly, I'm a bit worried for our data collection machine; it is old and may not stand the heat too well, and I'm not sure we have another machine we could use in its stead if it dies. I did a backup just in case...

I thought at first that it might be the data collection machine itself, since it is old and I know that machines can heat a room, but that doesn't make sense; the temperature increased by twenty degrees in there over the course of the day, and I have a hard time imagining one machine doing that.

I have to conclude that the heat is on and won't go off. I shudder to imagine what it will be like in the morning.

... do I want to know why Luc and Sasarai are temping at the North Pole?

(Or am I misreading the icon completely?)

Well, I'm glad it's better in your lab today. It seems to be a lot better in here too, which is nice, although I wonder if it'll get worse as the day wears on / it gets warmer outside / the computers have been on for longer.

:D

Nope, you've got it right -- it's part of an odd "put Santa hats on Suikoden characters" not-quite-meme that went around my friends list this past winter. I found it funny mainly because I consider it a vast improvement over Sasarai's regular hat, or at least the SuikoII version of it. :D

Heh... yeah, Sasarai's fashion sense seems to have greatly improved for Suikoden 3. I'm currently in a very Suiko mood, because I'm playing 5 and loving it (oh so much better than 4). If I ever get a paid LJ account I'll have to work in a Suiko icon somewhere... right now I'm full up.

(Was the relationship between him and Luc even known at all in 2? I must sadly admit to not having played it, though I've read up somewhat on my Suiko history online.)

(Sorry to hijack your journal for unrelated games discussion, eirias. ^_^; )

Since Ms. [livejournal.com profile] eirias seems to be ok with the thread... :D

I'm about 50 game hours into 5 and loving it as well. So fun!

2 is widely regarded as the best of the series, although I have a *slight* preference for the original game over it for a couple of reasons. It's still a fantastic game, though, and if you can borrow a copy from someone you may want to jump at the chance -- it's rare, and tends to go for $80-$100 on eBay on a good day. :\

There's the briefest of references to the Luc-Sas connection in 2...you get into a strategy battle at one point where Luc is in a unit on your side, and Sasarai shows up in an enemy unit on the other side, and Luc comments on this (something to the effect of "what's he doing here? Interesting...") -- but that's it.
