Thunderstorms all morning, and the heat index is still supposed to be over 100ºF this afternoon?!

Profoundly unfair, I tell you. I hope all y'all in Madison have AC.

This is the kind of weather that prompts the D.C. Metro area to give out free rides on public transit, in the hope of A) mitigating air quality problems associated with heat waves and B) keeping people from walking in the heat. Madison Metro offers a similar program on DNR-designated Clean Air Action Days. Not today, though.

When I was just up in Richmond (thankfully at night) a guy there said it was supposed to be 105 Monday, 110 Tuesday, and 105 Wednesday. >_

I don't think it was ever that hot when I lived in the DC area (akiko might be able to tell me if I'm wrong).

Thankfully the heat's not been nearly as bad as predicted... but when you spend the day doing physical chores it's still pretty awful.

No clue. I can tell you that the forecast for here (NC) goes up to 101 this week in actual temperature, 105 in heat index, and 116 in AccuWeather's "RealFeel", for whatever that's worth.

I think the upshot of all this is "too damn hot".

One of these years, I'm going to break down and fix my car's AC.

My sister said she actually saw steam rising off the pavement when it was raining yesterday. I second whoever said it is Too Damn Hot.
