He is kinda rad.

Although his recent book frustrated me endlessly for not having any citations. One of the worst parts of Ph.D. school is that it teaches you to care about evidence, and nobody who writes pop nonfiction bothers to cite things. They just state them as fact and leave you wondering how they know, and whether anyone else bothers to wonder how they know.
