in canada, abortions are treated as any other surgical procedure there's no law explicitly addressing abortion, nothing saying that it is legal or illegal in that case, i'd say their approach is "federalist" however, in between that set-up and the "socialist" set-up with the government ensuring safe access would be a lot of fuzzy gray area where neither label is completely applicable
my personal preferences just tend to land on the socialist end of the spectrum when it comes to abortion, i think (:
