Inspired by a friend, I am planning to give up LiveJournal for Lent. I read it too compulsively, and this hurts my productivity; in theory, at least, its absence for a while should make my life better. People who want to stay in touch with me will have to find other means of so doing.

(It's not like I ever got around to updating about my projects, anyway. ;) )

Before you go, I've been meaning to ask... What's a good starting point in the Magnetic Fields discography? I hear lots of good things about them, but never quite enough to suggest where I should start. (Although Neil Gaiman seems to like their forthcoming album quite a bit; he's mentioned his sneaky advance copy several times.)

I LOVELOVELOVE 69 Love Songs (http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid=1878748&domain_id=1876&meta_id=2). To be honest, it's the only MF stuff I've actually heard, but it hooked me very quickly. :)

You know, the husband just got it (it was playing in the record store and he instantly had to have it), and he was playing it for me, and by the sixth track or so I was in actual physical pain. I liked the first track or two, but after that they were relentlessly destroying the muscles in my back. I didn't know music could do that.

Well, that was neither here nor there.
