Oct. 22nd, 2004 01:16 pmHere's an interesting presidential endorsement from the New Republic for George Bush's opponent. That's right, it's a reprint of editorial lauding Bill Clinton, written in 1992. It's really fascinating to see how Clinton was viewed before his two terms in office. This particular newsmagazine viewed him as a man of very good character and had high hopes for his health plan, among other things. It mentioned Bush Senior's greatest weaknesses as being out of touch with modern American culture, having no coherent foreign policy plan for the post-Cold War era, and having no verve to accomplish anything where important liberal and conservative domestic issues were concerned.
